Alina, Grace and Laura chose to undertake a professional placement (internship) with The Institute for Human Rights Studies at the Islamic University of Indonesia (Pusat Studi Hak Asasi Manusia UII” (PUSHAM UII))
During their internship at PUSHAM UII, Alina, Grace and Laura were assigned a research project that focused on human rights in Indonesia. Alina chose to write disabilities rights in Indonesia, and also the criminal justice system for people with disabilities by carrying out fieldwork and comparative study. Grace wrote inter-religious conflict mediation in Indonesia. Meanwhile, Laura wrote her own findings on freedoms, tolerance and practices of religious minorities in Indonesia.
Nick chose to take a full-time semester load of classes from UII’s Faculty of Economics. Nick took four classes addressing different interests, international trade economy, Indonesian economy, business feasibility study, and Islamic micro economy
