Anjaly and Anna chose to intern at LBH Yogyakarta (Legal Aid of Yogyakarta). During their placement, they were tasked with promoting awareness of sexual abuse and violence. Anjaly was also assigned with a research project focusing on domestic violence in Indonesia. Meanwhile, Anna was assigned with a research project on Yogyakarta’s urban transportation policy.
Joanna chose to intern at a local credit union, Puskopdit Jatra Miguna. During her placement, Joanna had the opportunity to observe credit union client consultations and conduct firsthand research on microfinance in Indonesia.
After completing their internship, Anjaly, Anna, and Joanna presented their research project to UII assessors, LBH Yogyakarta, Puskopdit Jatra Miguna, and ACICIS representatives. Anjaly’s presentation topic was “Sexual and Domestic Violence in Indonesia”, Anna’s was “Becak Motor in Yogyakarta: Policy and Legal Sustainability”, and Joanna presented on the “Microfinance Industry in Indonesia Through Credit Union”
Meanwhile, Hwei-See chose to take a full-time semester load of classes from UII’s Faculty of Law. Hwei-See took six classes addressing different interests, from Islamic Law, Crime and Victimology, to International Laws. During her study at UII, Hwei-See also had the opportunity to represent UII at ‘The World Indonesianist Forum’ held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia.
